JD Scalzo is an actor, writer and independent producer now based in New York City. He was born in Connecticut and has forged an illustrious career in theatre and film as a proud member of both SAG-AFTRA and AEA.

A graduate of Wagner College, he has worked professionally with theaters from coast to coast and is a two-time San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics' Circle nominee. His film career expands new media, television and film, and was named Best Supporting Actor by FilmOut San Diego 2018 for the premiere of Devil's Path, now streaming on Amazon Prime.

He is also the creator, writer and star of jaded, an independent web series available on Revry.

His first full length play, '90 in 90' premiered with the New York Theater Festival in 2021and he has several projects on the horizon for 2024.

In May 2023, JD returned to Catskill, NY for the Regional Premiere of Hannah Moscovitch's "East of Berlin" at Bridge Street Theatre where it has since won Outstanding Play at the Berkshire Theatre Critic's Awards. He was also nominated for a BroadwayWorld Award for his performance.
